Hello readers,
When I started this blog in earnest in mid-March, I intended to write at least one blog post per week. However, as I've been adjusting to a busier teaching schedule at the start of the school year here in Japan, and as I've been feeling a bit of self-inflected overwhelm from committing to releasing a daily podcast throughout 2024, the stress of fulfilling that intention has been adding up.
As a result, for the rest of 2024, the only post I will absolutely commit to will be the forecast for the astrology of the month ahead. (And remember: I'm putting these out at the start of the astrological months because I'm inviting readers to consider learning the cycles of time and nature through an astrological lens, which means the next one will be at the start of Gemini Season around May 20th).
Having said that, looking at my schedule, I'll likely have at least one more post per month. I don't want to mislead readers or to feel stressed because of unmet expectations.
Last, something has been on my mind for quite some time now, and that is just how much we are all drowning in information these days.
As much as I respect the hard work content creators put into their products, sometimes I wish they would release fewer of them, if only so I could keep up. I also don't want to put out crap just because I've committed (this is something I'm struggling with regarding my daily podcast, but I sense that that particular media effort is more about a personal growth journey than my putting out high-quality content, so I'm sticking to my plan of publishing every day in 2024 over there.)
So, speaking of that podcast, please check it out if you want more content from me.
Because I haven't had the time or energy to put in the 2-3 hours of work I was putting into most episodes in March and early April, at times, I've felt like I've been in a bit of a rut lately regarding the quality. However, when I listen back to some of my "crappy" episodes, I usually find they aren't as bad as I thought, and there are usually a few gems in them.
The point is that I can be pretty hard on myself, and one of the lessons I'm learning this year is to go easier on myself. If I do that, I'll have more fun creating content and that will improve its quality.
Okay, that's it for this brief update. I'd intended to blog about the Mars-Neptune conjunction, which happens either Sunday, April 28th or Monday April 29th (the latter here in Japan), but I didn't have the energy or focus for it after a long week. In place of that effort, here’s a brief overview that I wrote about it in my most recent post, “Taurus Season 2024 Is Expansive, Revolutionary and Relaxing”:
As someone with this (Mars/Neptune) conjunction in my natal chart (in Sagittarius), this is a fascinating-if-frustrating energy. On one hand, it can mean a considerable drive (Mars) in our approach to our spirituality and mysticism (Neptune). On the other, it can mean a diffusion (Neptune) of our energies (Mars), akin to spreading ourselves too thin or wanting to do everything all at once and, as a result, getting nothing done.
With this conjunction in Neptune's home sign of Pisces, it seems a clear invitation to turn our energies toward spiritual and mystical pursuits. I use the word "mystical" as an invitation not to let Mars make one's explorations dogmatic or authoritarian. You might find the next big spiritual solution during such a transit, and that's great; just give it some Saturnian treatment, i.e., work slowly and steadily and see how much juice there is for your inspiration.
After all, blending Mars and Neptune has just as much of a chance for one to be Jim Jones as it does Jesus Christ. And really, aren't we past the time in human evolution when people need gurus anyway?”
Good stuff Bryan. Time...time, time, time. Ugh. It goes fast, always. Don't worry about us but ty. We understand completely and appreciate any content whenever you put it out. I love this lens view/outlook/message to take a step back and focus on less than more. Gracias amigo!
