It's funny---I was telling some good friends yesterday, both "vaccinated", about this incident (they don't follow sports) and before I even said it, one said, "Don't tell me you think it was related to the vaccine."
It's willful blindness/denial. Funny thing was, as we kept talking and I was sharing my thoughts that I had a feeling that 2023 will show us so many more examples of this, people will have to begin denying their own direct experience to keep that thought out of their head and the other friend commented on the power of denial. That led me to quoting one of my favorite movie quotes, from "American Beauty, " "Never underestimate the power of denial."
In addition, there are so many psychological incentives, not to mention financial ones, for NOT looking at this as a possibility. I'm going to do my small part to compassionately raise awareness, but am under no illusions that it will be easy.
