Yes, the media behavior is pretty pathetic. Most media outlets have taken on the roll of advocacy journalism.

There's a place for such journalism, but one of the first tenants of it is the outlet must be transparent about its perspective.

Mainstream outlets these days took a cue from FOX News and claim they are still fair and balanced when it's clear they've picked an agenda to promote.

I'm speaking in generalities, but this is a big issue throughout journalism. Matt Taibbi's excellent book, "Hate, Inc." does a great job detailing how media ended up this way.
