Lauren, I’ve been appreciating your work for a few months now and just wanted to thank you for your consistently solid takes.

To me, the answer to your question is fear. The oligarch-owned media uses our fear of the unknown to convince us we can’t have the candidates we believe in, that we can only go so far toward our ideals.

Of course, you’ll notice how this is only done with Left-leaning candidates. A guy like Trump was not/is not opposed by the media because of his policies so much as his personality. A guy like Bernie Sanders or a gal like Tulsi Gabbard gets the strongest opposition because they are proposing actual systemic changes and a change in how we think about the role of government.

Thing is, ask the majority of people if they feel the government is doing a good job looking out for their interests and, no matter their politics, most will say it is not. So of course we want change!!

But that’s the last thing the elites want so they use their media to convince us that we can’t vote for real change because our fellow Americans don’t want it. What a joke!

What we don’t want is a candidate stuck in the past, running on the fact that he was Obama’s VP, and offering no vision for our future. The time is now for a candidate to take the reins of responsibility and guide the American ship with courage, compassion and creativity.
