As a Yank who lives abroad, some of the news of my home country never reaches these shores, so I have to ask: Is that true about the potato fields? And what is happening?

Yes, yes, I know, I know I can “google” it, but I also know I don’t like how corporations that takeover a market have their names turned into verbs, just as I know I prefer making human connections sometimes to relying on the Internet. Besides all that, I was just munching on some rather tasteless Japanese potato chips, wondering if I am actually gonna get around to planting my own potato crop or just keep talking about it.

In other words, your answer may determine the answer to that question!
