Back in the early 2000s, I began to look into issues regarding election integrity as I’d done some journalistic work for an alt-weekly on the issue in my local area.

At the time, most people who followed the issue suggested voting machines would be potentially hackable and thus we needed a paper ballot as a back-up.

Long story short, back then there were serious allegations in the 2000 and 2004 election of election rigging though it wasn’t solely about machines. Yet no changes were made.

So here we are.

Seems to me the solution is to nationalized and standardized the presidential election (since it IS a federal office) and use blockchain technology to make it transparent and secure.

Because we’ve now had two elections in a row where the losing side felt the winners cheated so I think we can all agree this is not healthy for the country.
